Chick update 🐥
Update on my chicks: They are now 3.5 weeks old! They’ve gotten so big and beautiful! I love them and I love tending to them, but I cannot wait to move them outside!! What age should I move them out?
As your chicks reach 3.5 weeks of age, it’s an exciting time for bird enthusiasts! Typically, chicks can be introduced to outdoor conditions around 5-6 weeks, depending on the climate. When transitioning them outside, ensure they have a safe and secure coop, good ventilation, and protection from predators. Also, remember to gradually acclimate them to their new environment. Monitor their behavior; if they seem uncomfortable, bring them back inside for a while. A proper diet rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals is essential for their growth and health, so consider incorporating chick starter feed and fresh greens. Engaging with your chicks regularly will also help socialize them, making them friendly and more adaptable to outdoor life. Keeping an eye on their health and wellbeing during this transition is crucial for raising happy and healthy chickens.
