My 100 lb weight loss journey!!
March 18th 2024 I started my weight loss journey at 265 lbs. and today January 15th 2025 I’m 175 lbs.
This journey has been long and done naturally with no surgery. I still have 10 lbs. to meet my goal of losing 100 total pounds by March 2025. 💪🏾🙏🏾
When I look back at my 'before' photo, captured on March 18th, 2024, standing in that burgundy dress at 265 lbs, I barely recognize the person staring back. I felt constantly tired, self-conscious, and often overwhelmed by the sheer thought of making a change. My journey to shedding those stubborn pounds, aiming for a full 100 lbs lost by March 2025, has been incredibly personal and, crucially, entirely natural – no surgeries, just consistent effort, a lot of learning, and a complete lifestyle overhaul. A cornerstone of my transformation involved embracing #IntermittentFasting. It wasn't just about restricting food; it was about retraining my body and mind around eating patterns. I started with a 16:8 schedule, consuming all my meals within an 8-hour window and fasting for 16 hours. This strategy immensely helped me gain control over my cravings and portion sizes. Initially, those longer fasting periods felt daunting, but I discovered that staying well-hydrated with water and herbal tea made a world of difference. Gradually, my body adapted, and I began to feel more energetic, focused, and even less hungry during fasting hours. Beyond intermittent fasting, I made significant, sustainable changes to my diet. My focus shifted entirely to whole, unprocessed foods: an abundance of lean protein, fresh vegetables, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. The biggest game-changer was eliminating sugary drinks and drastically reducing processed snacks, which had been a major pitfall for me. Alongside dietary adjustments, I committed to incorporating more movement into my daily routine. I didn't jump into intense workouts; instead, I started with consistent daily walks, slowly increasing their duration and intensity as my stamina improved. It was about finding joy in movement, not punishing myself. Of course, there were countless days I wanted to throw in the towel. The scale would refuse to budge, or I'd feel discouraged after a less-than-perfect day. But seeing those small victories – like fitting comfortably into an old favorite pair of jeans, or the sheer ease of walking up a flight of stairs – served as powerful motivators. My 'after' picture, taken on January 15th, 2025, confidently posing in a black top and purple pants at 175 lbs, is a profound testament to that perseverance and belief in my ability to change. It's not just about the number on the scale; it's about the newfound energy, the surge in confidence, and a dramatic improvement in my overall well-being. If you're curious about 'what does 175 lbs look like' compared to 265 lbs, it extends far beyond a visual transformation. It's a fundamental shift in how I feel, how I move, and how I engage with the world around me. My joints no longer ache constantly, I can actively participate in life without feeling utterly exhausted, and my mental clarity has sharpened considerably. This entire journey has imparted invaluable lessons in patience, self-discipline, and, most importantly, self-love. I'm so incredibly close to reaching my ultimate 100 lb goal, and I sincerely hope that by sharing my natural, surgery-free path from 265 lbs to 175 lbs, I can inspire you to embark on or continue your own incredible transformation!
