After a quick potty break and breakfast, it’s usually back to their favorite napping spots. One loves the dog bed by the window, soaking up the sun, while the other prefers to be draped across the couch, often using my legs as a pillow if I'm sitting down. It’s hard to get anything done sometimes when you have two sets of puppy dog eyes begging for just one more belly rub before their next nap! Despite their sleepy demeanor, they do have bursts of energy. We make sure to get in a good walk or some playful tug-of-war sessions every day. Even my 'house hippos' need their exercise to stay healthy and happy, though they often act like it's the biggest chore! It’s all about balance – a good zoomie session followed by an even better nap. I’ve learned that while they love their rest, they thrive on routine and mental stimulation. Puzzle toys are a lifesaver for keeping their clever minds engaged without requiring too much physical exertion on those extra lazy days. One thing I've always wanted to share is how incredibly gentle and affectionate pitbulls can be. There are so many misconceptions out there, but my two are the biggest softies. They’re fantastic with kids (though we always supervise, of course) and love meeting new people, usually greeting them with a wagging tail and a happy, snorting 'hippo' sound. They truly are family dogs, fiercely loyal and full of love. If you're thinking about getting a pitbull, be prepared for a lifetime of unconditional love, goofy antics, and a whole lot of snoring! Taking care of these comfy creatures means paying attention to their comfort and health. Good quality, supportive dog beds are a must for their joints, especially as they get older. And because they love their food almost as much as they love napping, we’re mindful of their diet to keep them at a healthy weight. It’s a delicate balance between indulging their love for treats and ensuring they stay fit enough for their daily adventures (even if those adventures mostly involve moving from one comfy spot to another).
