It's hard to believe how quickly college flies by, isn't it? As I dive into my final fall semester with a mix of online and in-person classes, I've been reflecting a lot on how to make the most of this unique schedule and the entire senior year experience. For anyone else navigating their final semesters, especially with a hybrid setup, I wanted to share some thoughts and tips that have really helped me manage everything. One of the biggest advantages of having both online and in-person classes, like my Intermediate Accounting lecture on campus and my Financial Theory & Practice online, is the flexibility. But with great flexibility comes great responsibility! I've found it crucial to treat my online classes with the same seriousness as my in-person ones. That means setting aside dedicated 'classroom' time for Management & Organizational Behavior or Manager Information Systems, even if it's just in my room. It's easy to push online work aside, but staying consistent helps prevent last-minute stress. I use my calendar religiously, blocking out specific hours for each online course, just like I would for a physical lecture. For managing assignments and deadlines, especially with varied course loads like Principles of Marketing or Financial Management from previous semesters, a robust organizational system is a lifesaver. Platforms like Canvas become your best friend. I make sure to check the dashboard daily, not just for new announcements but to track my progress and upcoming tasks. Setting up notifications for due dates has saved me more times than I can count. Don't underestimate the power of a simple to-do list, either – ticking off tasks, big or small, provides such a satisfying sense of accomplishment. When it comes to choosing your senior year classes, think strategically. Beyond fulfilling requirements, consider what will genuinely benefit your career path or intellectual curiosity. For instance, if you're eyeing a specific industry, courses like Managerial Economics could give you an edge. Don't be afraid to utilize your academic advisors; they can offer insights into which courses might round out your degree or provide practical skills for your post-graduation plans. I also love looking for classes that offer project-based learning or opportunities to apply what you've learned in a real-world context. Finally, senior year isn't just about academics; it's about soaking up those last moments of college life. While managing a busy schedule, make time for friends, campus events, and even just quiet reflection. It’s also a perfect time to leverage career services, polish your resume, and start networking. Whether you're planning for grad school or jumping straight into the workforce, laying the groundwork now can make a huge difference. Online classe seem like they would be so much better than in person classes. They require a lot more discipline though because its so much easier to get distracted
