Scooter culture 🏍️

Life saver if you’re living off campus!! They are so fun to ride and it only costs like $5 for gas each time. I didn’t have my car at school for my first two years and I actually depended on my scooter for everything. It’s so cute to see everyone around campus on their scoots!

Everything school!

I looove the SEC school vibe. Football season is just so fun with the energy around sports. Everyone always shows out to games and tailgates

The campus

The brick buildings and trees are so pretty. I love how everyone just hangs out outside. It feels like a college movie!!

Southwest rec

This gym has such good machines and it’s always a good workout. I like how it’s only for students; it makes me feel more safe than at a public gym.

Academics

I love how everyone likes to have fun, but is also dedicated to their school work. Everyone works super hard to get grades. There are also so many work related opportunities to give you good experience.

... Read moreHey fellow students and future Gators! Building on my last post, I just had to share a few more insider tips and fun facts that really make University of Florida campus life special. Trust me, there's so much more to love beyond the obvious! One thing I quickly learned about UF is how truly vibrant the student community is. Beyond the spirited football games and incredible energy of Florida Basketball (yes, we love cheering on our NATTY CHAMPS!), there are literally hundreds of student organizations to join. Whether you're into academic clubs, volunteering, arts, or even quidditch, you'll find your people. It’s a fantastic way to make friends, build your resume, and discover new passions. I've personally gotten involved in a leadership group, and it's been such a rewarding experience, giving me a sense of belonging and purpose outside of classes. Speaking of campus, while I adore the historic brick buildings and lush trees, there are some hidden gems too. Have you explored the serene botanical gardens or found your favorite study nook in one of our amazing libraries? The Marston Science Library is always buzzing, but sometimes I seek out the quieter spots like Library West. It's all part of the unique UF campus life experience! And for those late-night study sessions, rumor has it if you pass under Century Tower when the bells ring at midnight, you'll pass your next exam – a fun little superstition that adds to the charm. Let's talk about getting around campus. While scooters are definitely a lifesaver, especially if you're living off campus, don't forget about our extensive bus system, RTS. Your GATORONE card isn't just for meals and gym access at Southwest Rec; it also gets you free rides all over Gainesville! It's super convenient for those rainy days or when you just don't feel like scooting. Plus, the campus is incredibly walkable, with beautiful paths that make even a long walk feel refreshing. And for the foodies out there, UF has some surprisingly good dining options, both on and off campus. From quick bites at the Reitz Union to exploring the diverse restaurants around Archer Road, there's always something new to try. It's a fun fact that many local eateries offer student discounts, so always ask! Overall, being a student here is an experience that goes beyond academics. It's about the traditions, the community, the endless opportunities, and those little fun facts that make UF truly feel like home. These are the aspects of University of Florida campus life that truly make it unforgettable.
