If it's Harlan Coben, you should watch it! It's another very well-written show, nailing the suspense and drama. This is my favorite Harlan Coben series, and it helps Micheal C. Hall is in it. My only complaint is his accent is off a little, but it might be that I am just used to him on Dexter. If you have never watched a Harlan Coben series, I would go with this one first!
IMDB SUMMARY
Widowed surgeon Tom has struggled to raise his two daughters alone following his wife's death a year ago. Things seem to be on the right track for the family, who live in a gated community, because they have close friends nearby and Tom is in the early stages of a new relationship. But the situation takes a turn for the worse when Jenny, Tom's oldest daughter, goes missing along with her boyfriend. Tom enlists girlfriend Sophie, a police detective, to help locate the teens, but her new partner is working her own agenda. As the investigation intensifies, Tom unearths dark secrets about the people closest to him in his affluent neighborhood. The drama series was created by mystery novelist Harlan Coben.

Okay, so if you're like me and constantly on the hunt for your next gripping Netflix obsession, you absolutely have to check out Harlan Coben's 'Safe.' I'm still thinking about it long after I finished it! What really got me hooked wasn't just the central mystery – a widowed father, Tom, desperately searching for his missing daughter, Jenny – but the incredible way the story unravels within a seemingly perfect gated community. It's supposed to be safe, right? But as Tom digs deeper, you realize everyone has secrets, and the 'safe' haven is anything but. The cast is phenomenal. Michael C. Hall (yes, that Michael C. Hall from 'Dexter'!) takes on the lead role, and while his British accent might take a minute to get used to, his portrayal of a distraught father is raw and incredibly convincing. You genuinely feel his desperation and the moral compromises he has to make. Amanda Abbington, who plays Sophie, the detective assisting Tom, brings such a nuanced performance. Her character is complex, and her interactions with Tom add so much tension. And seeing her navigate the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat. The series also features standout performances from actors like Audrey Fleurot and Hannah Arterton, whose roles are pivotal to the unfolding drama. It’s not just about the main plot; it’s about the interconnected lives and the dark truths that lie beneath the surface of this affluent neighborhood. Each character feels real, making the betrayals and revelations hit even harder. What I love most about Harlan Coben's work, and 'Safe' is a prime example, is his mastery of suspense. He's a genius at layering mysteries, making you suspect everyone and everything. Just when you think you've figured it out, he throws another curveball. The pacing is spot-on, keeping you engaged without feeling rushed. It's the kind of show where you tell yourself, 'just one more episode,' and suddenly it's 3 AM. If you're looking for a series that combines elements of crime, drama, and a genuinely perplexing mystery, 'Safe' is it. It challenges your perceptions of trust, community, and how well you truly know the people closest to you. Definitely add this to your 'What to Watch' list on Netflix – you won't regret diving into this thrilling, secret-filled world!
