One of my favorite Zoos is the Nashville Zoo in Nashville, TN. I love that you can actually go into the kangaroo setup. You can't get off the walkway, but if they come up to you, you can pet them! 💕 Also, the koi pond is super fun!Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

It's not every day you get to step right into their habitat and potentially interact with these incredible marsupials. My recent visit left me with such wonderful memories, especially getting to be so close to the light brown kangaroos as they rested on the dry grass. The Nashville Zoo offers a unique 'Kangaroo Kickabout' experience where you can walk through a large, open area where the kangaroos roam freely. While you can't chase them down or get off the designated pathway, if one of the friendly animals decides to hop near you, you're welcome to gently pet them. It’s truly a special moment to feel their soft fur and observe their calm demeanor up close. Patience is key here; sometimes they're active, sometimes they're just lounging, so take your time and let them come to you. It's an authentic interaction that really sets this zoo apart, offering a glimpse into their natural behavior in a spacious, well-maintained environment. Beyond the amazing kangaroo encounter, the Nashville Zoo is full of other fantastic attractions. One of my personal favorites is the vibrant koi pond. It's a serene spot where you can pause and watch dozens of colorful koi fish gracefully swim through the clear water. The pond is truly a spectacle, boasting various patterns of white, orange, red, black, and yellow fish, making it a beautiful and calming experience after the excitement of the kangaroo walk-through.
