... Read moreOMG, September is finally here, and you know what that means for us horror fanatics? It's officially spooky season kick-off! I'm already buzzing with excitement because there are SO many incredible horror movies hitting screens this month. If you're like me and constantly searching for 'what movies are releasing this month' to plan your fright nights, then you've come to the right place. I've been keeping a close eye on all the upcoming releases, and let me tell you, September looks absolutely stacked with scares! First up, we're diving straight into the deep end on September 5th with two big ones: The Conjuring: Last Rites and McKinney Family Home Videos Vol. 2. I mean, The Conjuring franchise always delivers, and "PREPARE FOR THE END" on that poster definitely has me intrigued. I'm expecting some serious supernatural chills and jump scares that'll make me clutch my popcorn. Then, if you're into that found-footage vibe, McKinney Family Home Videos Vol. 2 releasing on FOUND TV sounds like a perfect late-night watch, especially with that "FOUND ORIGINAL" tag – you know it's going to be unsettlingly real. Mid-month, things really get intense. On September 9th, we have Strange Harvest hitting VOD. The poster with the masked figure gives me serious folk-horror vibes, and I'm always down for a creepy, atmospheric tale. Then, September 12th is a huge day for horror! We've got Stephen King's The Long Walk arriving in theaters. As a massive King fan, adaptations are always a gamble, but the premise of young men walking to their doom is just so bleak and fascinating. I'm hoping it captures the psychological terror of the book. Also on the 12th, look out for Rabbit Trap (the guy with headphones on the poster looks mysterious!), Traumatika (that monstrous face and sharp teeth guarantee nightmares!), and Him (a blood-splattered football player? Sign me up for that slasher energy!). These theatrical releases mean plenty of options for a scary cinema trip with friends. Later in the month, keep your eyes peeled for Paranoia Tapes The Movie on September 15th, also on FOUND TV. The neon-colored skull with a beanie on the poster screams retro-futuristic horror, which is a niche I adore. If you love a good psychological thriller that messes with your head, this might be it. And finally, to close out the month with a bang, The Strangers Chapter 2 arrives on September 26th in theaters. I remember how terrifying the first Strangers was, so I'm absolutely bracing myself for more home invasion terror from those masked figures and that bloody knife. It's going to be a tense one! So there you have it, my fellow horror enthusiasts! September is truly shaping up to be an epic month for scares. Whether you prefer supernatural frights, found footage, slasher flicks, or psychological dread, there's something for everyone. Make sure to mark your calendars, gather your bravest friends, and get ready to scream your way through these incredible new horror movies. Happy watching, and don't forget to tell me which ones you're most excited for!
