I'm absolutely thrilled to introduce one of my newest original characters, Zaden Riotson, to the Lemon8 community! This initial digital drawing isn't just a piece of art; it's my very first creation of the year, and I couldn't think of a more exciting way to kick off my artistic journey for the next twelve months than by bringing a new OC to life. For me, the process of character creation is deeply personal and incredibly rewarding. With Zaden Riotson, I aimed for a design that immediately tells a story. Their striking dark skin tone, combined with those captivating yellow eyes, gives them an intense and somewhat mysterious aura. I deliberately chose pointed ears to hint at a unique lineage or perhaps a connection to a fantastical world beyond our own. And the black hair, subtly streaked with white, adds a touch of seasoned wisdom or perhaps an untold past. The details are always so important. You might notice the dark blue shirt, which I picked to contrast with their skin and draw attention to the scars etched on their arms and neck. These aren't just decorative marks; in my mind, they represent a history of resilience, battles fought, and stories waiting to be told. They've definitely lived through some significant experiences! To complete the scene, I placed Zaden against a backdrop of a serene starry night sky. This setting further emphasizes their enigmatic nature, suggesting they might be a nocturnal wanderer, a guardian of secrets, or someone deeply connected to the cosmos. As for the creation process, this particular piece was crafted using Clip Studio Paint, an amazing tool for digital artists. Even though it's a 'rough drawing,' as I mentioned, the goal was to capture the raw essence of Zaden and quickly translate the ideas swirling in my head onto the digital canvas. Starting a new year with a fresh OC and a new art piece always feels incredibly invigorating. It sets the tone for new challenges and growth in my artistic skills. I find immense joy in seeing how a character evolves from a simple concept to a detailed design, and this early sketch is just the beginning for Zaden. I'm incredibly passionate about developing Zaden Riotson's story and exploring the world they inhabit.
