Smashed Brussel Sprouts Recipe
A popular way to make those boring brussel sprouts thinner and crispier is to make them smashed!
Cut the ends off and steam cook the brussel spouts until tender
Put in ice bath to stop cooking
Lay them on a baking tray and pat dry
Smash them using the bottom of a glass container
Season to liking (I used chili onion seasoning, salt, red chili flakes and later added breadcrumbs and feta)
Bake at 400 for 30 minutes and flip halfway through
Finally add cheese and broil for 5 minutes
Enjoy!

Smashed Brussels sprouts are a fun and delicious way to enjoy this often-overlooked vegetable. They are loaded with vitamins C and K, and are a great source of fiber. To prepare, start by trimming the ends off the Brussels sprouts and steaming them until tender. The ice bath halts the cooking process and helps maintain their bright green color. For added flavor, season with your choice of spices; chili onion seasoning, garlic powder, or paprika can add a nice kick. For a savory finish, sprinkle breadcrumbs and cheese, such as feta or Parmesan, before broiling until golden and crispy. This recipe is not only easy but can be customized with your favorite flavors and ingredients. A great low-calorie option, these smashed Brussels sprouts can be served alongside meats or enjoyed as a vegetarian dish. Experiment with different toppings and enjoy the delightful crunch in every bite!
