It was such a heartwarming experience braiding Misty's hair! Seeing her stand so patiently while I worked on her mane and tail, it just reinforced how special the bond with horses truly is. Since I shared my bubble braids, I've been thinking a lot about other cool horse hairstyles and practical tips I've picked up along the way. Why I Love Bubble Braids for Horses Bubble braids aren't just for people; they look absolutely adorable on horses! Plus, they're often much easier to do than traditional braids, making them a great option if you're still practicing your braiding skills. I found they really showcased Misty's beautiful dark mane. I like to use a detangling spray to make sure there are no knots, which makes the whole process smoother and more comfortable for the horse. Section It Out: Grab a small section of mane, about an inch or two wide, right at the crest of the neck. First Bubble: Secure this section with a small, horse-safe elastic band. Don't pull it too tight – comfort is paramount! Add More Hair: Take another section of mane directly beneath the first one. Combine it with the loose hair from your first secured section. Second Bubble (and Beyond!): Secure this new, larger section with another elastic, creating that signature 'bubble' effect. Gently pull the hair between the elastics to puff out the bubble a little.
