For me, it's usually after a super hectic week when laundry piles up, and somehow, everything just ends up on the floor instead of in the hamper or closet. That 'messy bedroom floor clothes scattered' look is my personal nemesis. It feels overwhelming just looking at it, and honestly, it makes finding anything a nightmare. I used to just kick things under the bed, but that never really solved the problem, did it? One thing that really started to help me was breaking down the task. Instead of thinking 'I need to clean my whole room,' I'd focus on 'Okay, first, let's just get all these clothes off the floor.' I grab a laundry basket – or sometimes even two! – and just swoop everything up. Doesn't matter if it's dirty or clean yet, just get it off the floor. Then, I sort later. This small victory instantly makes the room feel less daunting and gives me the motivation to keep going. After the floor is clear, tackling surfaces like my nightstand or vanity feels so much easier. I used to have my 'lady boss' sign completely drowned in cups and chargers, and my vanity would be a battlefield of makeup and hair products. Now, I try to have a 'one-minute rule' – if I can put it away in under a minute, I do it right then. This simple habit makes a huge difference in preventing clutter from building up again. Having designated spots for chargers, remote controls, and beauty products means they don't end up scattered randomly. It's not just about the initial clean, it's about keeping it that way. I found that having a designated spot for everything is key. And honestly, seeing my room go from a total disaster zone to a calm, organized space (like when my bed is neatly made and my pink stuffed animal is in its place) gives me such a boost. It really does feel like a fresh start. Sometimes I even put on some music or a show on my TCL Roku TV in the background to make the cleaning process more enjoyable. It helps turn a chore into a more relaxing activity. And speaking of getting things in order, decluttering is a huge part of it. If you have clothes constantly scattered, it might be a sign you have 'TOO TO GIVE' – too much stuff! I try to do a quick declutter every few months, donating anything I haven't worn or used in a while. Less stuff means less mess to manage, right? It's amazing how much lighter your space feels once you let go of items you no longer need. Remember, it's okay for things to get messy sometimes – life happens! The real win is finding a system that helps you get it back in order without feeling completely overwhelmed. It’s all about progress, not perfection, and celebrating those small wins, like finally seeing your floor again!
