My boy Arthur
Cool story about being in the right place at the right time
I was heading to the gas station to fill up when I noticed 3 speedway employees standing on the sidewalk outside the establishment. Me not knowing how to mind my own business walked out there to see what this was all about.
One of the speedway employees had said that there was a cat stuck in the storm drain and that he would surly die if we didn’t get him out, she went on to explain that they had already called the non emergency and someone came out and said that the metal guard was too heavy and the would be nothing that can do.
Being as over confident as I am I said surly it’s not that heavy so me and the speedway girl lifted the metal up witch was quite heavy, opening up the hole this scared the kitty back into the pipes. In a rush the one of the employees went and grabbed some empty pizza boxes to block the hole on the other side so the kitty couldn’t go further, we tried to lure aurthur out of the pipes with some food but he was so scared he stayed in the middle of the pipe.
I decided the only way was to crawl through that pipe and grab him, and so it was I god down in the storm drain badly able to fit in I crawled about 100ft to the cat and spent some time in the drain getting to know each other 😂 after I regained some strength we both finished the crawl out of the drain both of us being as dirty as we were went home got a nice shower, aurthur is a survivor, and now has an amazing home thanks to our amazing lady’s at the speedway cafe.

From my experience, once an animal like Arthur is rescued, the next crucial steps include ensuring a warm bath, a comforting environment, and proper nourishment—elements that give them a better chance to recover and thrive. It's wonderful to hear Arthur now has an amazing home and a full belly, thanks to the dedicated people who stepped up for him. Rescue stories like this remind us of the unexpected moments where kindness meets action. Whether it’s a small act of lifting a heavy metal guard or crawling through a narrow pipe, these efforts save lives and inspire others to pay attention and help.
