It was designed to impress foreign dignitaries and showcase France's economic prosperity and artistic excellence. Standing there, surrounded by so much history and reflective beauty, it’s easy to feel the weight of centuries of courtly life. The opulent Hall of Mirrors truly encapsulates the spirit of Versailles. Even though it was winter during my visit, the Versailles Palace gardens symmetry was still incredibly striking. While the fountains weren't playing and the flowerbeds were bare, the sheer scale and precise geometric patterns of the landscaping were undeniable. André Le Nôtre’s design is a marvel of classical French garden style, where every line, every pathway, and every tree seems perfectly placed. I could still appreciate the vastness and the incredible planning that went into creating such an immense outdoor masterpiece. I can only imagine how truly breathtaking they are when everything is in full bloom in spring or summer, with the fountains dancing.
