I really liked this book so much! I loved the characters Elise Saint and Layla Quinn. Elise Saint is a human and Layla Quinn is a reaper(Vampire). I hated Tobias Saint, he is Elise’s father; with a whole ass passion. I don’t know how to feel about Sterling and Valeriya.
I did not like the fact that the vampires are called reapers but it is what it is.
I absolutely loved the narrator Tamika Keaton-Donegal. She did amazing with all of the characters. She brought all of them to life.

I found myself completely invested in their journey, especially as they navigate a world where reapers hold significant sway and secrets lurk in every shadow. And let's just say, Elise's father, Tobias Saint, makes for a truly detestable antagonist, which always adds a good layer of tension and motivation to the plot! While the book features reapers instead of traditional vampires, this unique twist adds a fresh take on classic mythological elements often seen in fantasy. As an Advance Reader's Edition, I was lucky to get an early peek, and I'm positive fans of the genre will be eagerly awaiting its official release on August 6, 2024.
