Would like to adopt the following treatment
🩺 reminding ourselves, "Are we valuable or have advantages?"
(Positive affirmations about yourself) will help stimulate self-respect.
🩺 positive assertions about ourselves have a positive effect on us, even when the qualities we are asserting are not relevant to the situation at the time.
📢 For example, if we are hurt about not being promoted, we do not have to confirm our values as employees to feel better.
(Which would have been hard to convince at the time)
📢 only confirmation that we are good parents or great wives.
📢 was enough to make us feel better about ourselves while walking out of the chief's office (without getting the new position we had hoped for).
