my latest goodreads book reviews

hi pookies! Here are just two of my latest book reviews. If you’ve been here you know I’ve been trying to use goodreads more often, so I’m posting to keep myself accountable haha.

🐺❤️‍🔥Endless Anger (Monsters Within 1) by Sav R. Miller

I have been waiting all summer to read this book and holy shit it did NOT disappoint. I personally think this is Sav's best book from the plot, to the yearning, and enemies to lovers, it was all AMAZING. I really liked how Sav added some political undertones in some parts which I feel like in today's day and age it's needed so it was really nice to see that. And I was DYING when one of the kids asked "do you think our parents have ever had sex together" like I was dead lol because yuppp they have haha. The plot was so addicting to read, and Sav almost had me crying towards the end of the book because I was so nervous everything wouldn't turn out happily ever after! But Sav came through like always and didn't leave me hanging! I'm SO excited to read Jealous Rage and Foxe's book! Overall Endless Anger was definitely one of my favorite reads of this year! Thank you so much source books for sending over this arc copy!

🏨🍼The Rebel (Spade Hotel 2) by Marni Mann

This book was definitely not one of my favorites but at some parts I did enjoy reading it. The beginning portion of the book was very repetitive when Rowan kept talking about how her and Cooper would never work out, but the problem is that she talked about it so much without giving much of a reason behind it, it became annoying. And why I do get that it may meant to keep the reader interested, it just kept annoying me lol. I just wish the book included more of how they feel in love instead of them magically just feel in love with each other in three days. And I feel like I could INSTANTLY tell when Rowan fell pregnant...l was like diva DOWN, and I feel like it was pretty predictable. Once she said it was jet lag, I KNEW it wasn't jet lag lol. But overall I was a little disappointed but I might read the next book!

My next read will probably be dream on by Jennifer Hartman. Thank you so much bloom and Jennifer for sending over a arc copy, ilysm <3

... Read moreOkay, fellow bookworms, let's chat about something we all love: finding that next amazing romance or rom-com read! After sharing my latest Goodreads book reviews, I wanted to dive a little deeper into how I discover those popular rom-coms and romance books that truly hit different. It's not always easy to pick out the good ones from the endless options, right? First off, Goodreads is seriously my go-to for finding my next reads and seeing what other people are raving about. Beyond just checking out individual book reviews, I love exploring their 'Listopia' section. You can find curated lists like 'Best Enemies-to-Lovers Romance,' 'Top Spicy Reads,' or 'Feel-Good Rom-Com Books to Read.' It's like a treasure map for book lovers! And don't forget the power of BookTok – those short, engaging videos often highlight popular romance books and rom-coms you might never have stumbled upon otherwise. It's how I found out about so many fantastic rom-com books to read for my TBR pile! When I'm hunting for a new book, I always keep an eye out for certain tropes that I know I'll enjoy. For example, the OCR mentions 'fake dating' and 'slow burn' for my upcoming read, Dream On by Jennifer Hartmann, and those are two of my absolute favorites! Fake dating always leads to hilarious misunderstandings and undeniable chemistry, while a slow burn builds that delicious tension until you're practically screaming for the characters to finally get together. Other popular romance tropes I adore include enemies-to-lovers (like in *Endless Anger*!), grumpy x sunshine, second-chance romance, and even forbidden love. Knowing your preferred tropes can really narrow down your search for good rom-com books. What truly makes a romance or rom-com stand out for me? It's all about the characters and the emotional connection. I need witty banter, believable chemistry, and characters I can genuinely root for. Whether it's a laugh-out-loud romantic comedy book or a deeply emotional romance, I want to feel something. And if it’s a spicy romance, the steam needs to be earned and enhance the story, not just be there for shock value. The plot needs to keep me engaged, even if it's just a lighthearted rom-com. I want to escape into their world, laugh with them, maybe even shed a tear or two, and ultimately feel that warm, fuzzy satisfaction when I turn the last page. That's why a truly good book review often focuses on these elements. So, if you're like me and constantly on the hunt for your next favorite read, don't be afraid to dive into those Goodreads lists, explore BookTok, and identify the tropes that make your heart sing. There are so many incredible romance books and rom-coms out there waiting to be discovered. Happy reading, pookies!

Book reviews are always a hit or miss, but I trust Goodreads. Adding "Endless Anger" to my list. 🤔
