Meet my cat Kei - Kei

Kei - Kei likes to be where you are. She is always curious and wants to see what you bring in the house. She wants to "help" with whatever chore or project you're working on. Whenever I'm on a work call or Google meet, she has to make her presence known. But now, during virtual meetings, we always have a 'here's my pet' little screen time. cus we are all animal lovers.

... Read moreLiving with Kei-Kei, my lively tabby cat, is truly an adventure! You know how some cats just have to be involved in *everything*? That's Kei-Kei to a T. The original post just scratches the surface of what makes her such a special companion, especially for those of us who work from home or have lots of projects going on. She truly is my 'biggest helper,' whether I'm trying to fold laundry (she thinks the clothes are perfect for pouncing!), writing emails (keyboard is a great warm spot!), or even doing some crafting. I've learned that if I'm cutting paper or handling string, I need to set up a decoy play area for her nearby, otherwise, my project becomes her personal playground. It's a sweet kind of chaos, really. For anyone with a 'working cat' like mine, I've found having a designated "cat corner" with a comfy bed and a few favorite toys near my workspace helps a lot. Sometimes, she just needs to be near you, even if she's not actively participating. Her curiosity is boundless. If a new box comes into the house, she's the first one to inspect it. She has to sniff every new grocery item and often tries to 'help' unpack. This makes ordinary tasks much more entertaining. And speaking of mischievous, she absolutely lives up to that description! I've caught her trying to bat pens off my desk, or sneakily trying to taste my water glass. It's never anything harmful, just her way of saying, 'Hey, pay attention to me!' One thing the original post mentions is her love for the outdoors, and that's so true. Kei-Kei thrives on exploring. While I ensure she's safe and supervised when she's outside, bringing elements of the outdoors inside has been a game-changer. Think sturdy scratching posts, puzzle feeders that mimic hunting, and even a catio if you have the space! For a cat who loves to be outside, mental stimulation indoors is crucial to keep them happy and prevent boredom-induced mischief. A sunny window perch where she can watch birds is also a huge hit. During virtual meetings, she's become a bit of a celebrity. As mentioned, she usually makes her presence known, sometimes with a well-timed meow or a graceful walk across the keyboard. Instead of fighting it, I've embraced it! My colleagues are animal lovers, and a brief 'here's my pet' moment has become a welcome, lighthearted interlude. For other pet parents struggling with this, sometimes a treat puzzle or a new toy given right before your call can buy you some quiet time. Kei-Kei isn't just a pet; she's a full-fledged family member who enriches every day with her unique personality. She's cute, she's curious, and she's definitely the most endearing 'helper' I could ask for. Every day is an adventure with this amazing tabby cat!
