last, now, next! 📚

2025/2/4 Edited to

... Read moreHey bookworms! Have you jumped on the 'Last, Now, Next' book stack trend yet? It's quickly become one of my favorite ways to share my current reading journey and get inspiration from others. If you're new to it, it's super simple: you pick one book you just finished (your 'Last'), one you're currently reading (your 'Now'), and one you're excited to read next (your 'Next'). It's like a mini reading diary and a sneak peek into your literary world! For my 'Last' book, I recently immersed myself in Sarah J. Maas's Queen of Shadows. What an epic ride! If you're into intricate fantasy worlds, powerful heroines, and intense political intrigue, this one delivers. I was completely captivated by Aelin Galathynius's journey and her relentless fight for her kingdom. Maas truly knows how to craft a gripping narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Finishing it left me with that satisfying book hangover, already eager for more from the Throne of Glass series. Right now, my 'Now' read is Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross. Oh my goodness, this book is magic! It’s a beautifully written fantasy romance set during wartime, featuring rival journalists. The prose is just stunning, and the slow-burn romance is incredibly heartwarming. I'm only halfway through, but I'm completely invested in Iris and Roman's story, and the world-building is just enough to draw you in without overwhelming you. It's a perfect blend of poignant storytelling and enchanting fantasy. And for my 'Next' read, I'm absolutely buzzing to dive into Don't Dust It by Lyla Sage. I've heard amazing things about this one, especially that it’s a sweet slow burn and described as 'sunshine in written form' – exactly what I need sometimes! I'm expecting a heartwarming contemporary romance that will make me smile. Also on my radar for 'Next' is Powerless, which has been getting so much buzz across BookTok. I haven't decided which one to pick up first, but both promise to be fantastic escapes. If you're thinking of creating your own 'Last, Now, Next' stack, here are a few tips! Don't feel pressured to pick popular books; choose what genuinely excites you. For your 'Last,' reflect on what stood out – was it the characters, the plot twists, or the world? For your 'Now,' what are you loving about it right now? And for 'Next,' think about what genre or mood you're craving. It's a wonderful way to connect with other readers and get fantastic recommendations. It's also a great way to push yourself out of a reading slump or simply celebrate your reading journey. Happy stacking!

Book Review Book name: Finders Keepers Author: Stephen King Genre: Psychological Thriller My rating: 4/5. Not as good as the first in the series, Mr. Mercedes, but a good second book to link the first and last in the trilogy. Taking a break of the scary stuff to read a little bit of fluff.
