Listen besties, this is how we staying on track AND saving money over here 💯
Me and my husband usually meal prep twice a week. Friday is our “clean the meat” day, but this time… we thugged it out and cooked EVERYTHING the same day 😩👏🏾
Now guess what… Sunday came and we didn’t have to cook NOT ONE THING for dinner 🙌🏾 all we had to do was heat up a meal and keep it pushing.
These meals will last us until about Wednesday, then we run it back Wednesday night or Thursday night and prep again.
I’m telling y’all… FOOD is expensive right now, but cooking at home and meal prepping is a WIN every time. Even if you saving $10 a day from not eating out, that’s money that can go toward bills, gas, or whatever you need.

Meal prepping is truly a game-changer when it comes to managing both your time and budget. From my experience, prepping meals twice a week—like on Friday and Wednesday—not only keeps the dinner routine stress-free but also ensures that you always have something nutritious ready to go. It’s especially useful during busy weeks when cooking after a long day feels impossible. One trick I've found effective is to have a dedicated "clean the meat" day to use up what’s in the fridge before buying more fresh ingredients. This reduces food waste and saves extra shopping trips. On days when you cook everything at once, it might feel exhausting, but having several meals prepped and portioned means you don’t have to worry about cooking until the next prep day. Investing in quality meal prep containers is key—they keep your food fresh longer and make reheating easier. I love browsing Amazon for durable, leak-proof containers that stack well in the fridge. For fellow college students or young adults, taking advantage of Amazon’s student discount and free membership helps with affordable meal prepping gear. Aside from saving roughly $10 a day by avoiding takeout, meal prepping empowers you to control your ingredients, making healthier choices easier. Plus, it frees up time during the week for other priorities. It's a win-win strategy I highly recommend incorporating into your routine to stay budget savvy and stress-free when it comes to meals.
