homemade playdough
I love to find crafts that are 1. safe for my toddler. 2 they are cheap (this cost maybe $1 to make. if that). and 3. they are fun for him (i have fun with this too)
It’s so easy to make, and is completely safe to eat (doesn’t mean let them, it doesn’t taste good. but it won’t hurt them if they put it in their mouth or ingest a little)
❣️here’s my recipe❣️
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
Mix these together
then add 1/2 cup water
2 tsp of vegetable oil (or whatever you have, this is just normally cheaper)
then food coloring
mix the wet and dry together, once all incorporated, fold and knead with your hands until no longer sticky.
I normally add a couple tablespoons of extra flour so it doesn’t stick to everything. Then I spilt the dough into 2 and make 2 different sets like pictured. if you wanna do one big batch, i recommend mixing the dye with the water so it mixes better without staining your hands❣️
wrap in air tight container when done or saran wrap, it’ll last about 2-3 days!
⭐️Overall rating:10 /10: we LOVE homemade playdough in this house

Making homemade playdough is a delightful activity for toddlers and their parents. Not only is it an inexpensive craft option that can last for several days, but it's also completely safe even if ingested in small amounts. The basic ingredients you need are flour, salt, water, vegetable oil, and food coloring for fun variations. To create this playdough, mix one cup of flour with half a cup of salt. Gradually add in half a cup of water along with two teaspoons of vegetable oil, mixing until it forms a dough. Food coloring can be added to make each batch unique. For tactile learning experiences, encourage your toddler to knead the dough with their hands. It's a fun way to develop fine motor skills while enjoying the textures and colors. When playtime is over, store the playdough in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap to keep it fresh for up to three days. This activity not only stimulates creativity but also promotes sensory play, which is vital for childhood development. Whether you're spending time together or looking for solo play activities, this homemade playdough can become a beloved staple in your household.

Does it taste good? 😁😁
