Surviving FINALS WEEK😱

We are in finals season for college students and here are some tips that are helping me get through!!😊 It can be a really stressful time so remember to prioritize your mental health first 🧘🏽‍♀️🙌🏽

- Print out all your worksheets and study guides ahead of time. Having print outs help writing on them rather than seeing it on the computer 💻

- Handwrite everything it helps with memorizing the terms and notes 📝

- NO PROCRASTINATION get it out of the way, believe me the work piles up!!

- Lastly, stay organized it will help you create a flow and add some music to your study session

... Read moreFinals week is truly a marathon, not a sprint, and I totally get how overwhelming it can feel. Beyond the essential tips like printing out materials and handwriting notes – which are lifesavers for memory retention, trust me! – I've found a few extra strategies that have really made a difference in my own college journey. First off, let's talk about creating your ultimate study sanctuary. My OCR caught "cozy study desk," and honestly, it’s a game-changer. I make sure my desk is clean, clutter-free, and has everything I need within reach. Good lighting is key, and sometimes I even light a scented candle (safely, of course!) to create a calming atmosphere. It signals to my brain that it's 'focus time' and helps me settle in. Having a dedicated space, even if it's just a corner of your room, can drastically reduce distractions and boost your concentration. Then there's the whole time management puzzle. "No procrastination" is easier said than done, right? What I've found incredibly effective is breaking down my study sessions into manageable chunks. The Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes of focused work, 5-minute break) is my secret weapon. It prevents burnout and makes large tasks feel less daunting. Also, creating a realistic study schedule at the start of the week, allocating specific times for each subject, helps me stay on track. Don't forget to schedule in actual breaks – not just scrolling through your phone, but stepping away, stretching, or grabbing a snack. And let's not overlook mental well-being. The original post rightly highlights prioritizing mental health. For me, that means ensuring I get enough sleep, even if it feels impossible. Pulling all-nighters might seem productive, but it often backfires on exam day. I also try to incorporate short bursts of physical activity, like a quick walk around the block, to clear my head. Staying hydrated and eating nourishing meals instead of relying solely on coffee and instant noodles also makes a huge difference in my energy levels and focus. Finally, staying motivated when you're feeling drained is crucial. That "Stop being lazy. Just do it." message from the OCR resonates so much. When I hit that wall, I remind myself of my goals and why I'm putting in all this hard work. Sometimes, it's about rewarding myself after a particularly tough study session – maybe a favorite snack, an episode of a show, or a quick video call with a friend. Connecting with classmates for a brief study group can also provide that much-needed boost, as you realize you're not alone in this struggle. Remember, everyone finds finals challenging, and it's okay to feel stressed, but having a toolkit of coping strategies can make all the difference!
