Little Bible doodles!

I think I would always compare myself to other girlie with their wide margin Bibles and their amazing calligraphy and drawings and I wanted so bad to be one of those girls, but that’s not my talent, and that’s not a mark of a true Christian. So here are some of my attempts at east little doodles!

... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my little doodle journey, I wanted to share some more thoughts and practical tips on how you can start adding some beautiful, easy Bible doodles to your quiet time, even if you feel like you're not artistic. I know I used to think I needed perfect calligraphy or elaborate drawings, but honestly, it's all about making your Bible study personal and engaging. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to embrace imperfection. Don't compare your pages to those stunning ones you see online. Your Bible is your personal space for reflection and growth. My own attempts, like adding a simple "pink cloud with positive attributes" when I'm focusing on God's character, or little flowers next to a verse about growth, have truly transformed how I interact with scripture. So, where do you even begin? You don't need fancy supplies. A simple pen or a few colored pencils are perfectly fine! Start with basic shapes. For example, inspired by the verse "consider the lillies" from Luke 12, I love drawing simple purple and orange flowers. Just a few petals and a stem can add so much visual interest. Similarly, when I'm meditating on Jesus as the "light of the world," a quick yellow lightbulb doodle is a perfect reminder. Another easy way to start is by highlighting key phrases or drawing simple borders. Remember verses like "do not grow weary in doing good"? You could draw a simple banner around it or use different fonts to make it stand out. Or, if you're studying a passage like Proverbs 31 and listing "qualities for a godly woman," try doodling small icons next to each quality – maybe a tiny heart for love, or a small hand for service. The beauty of scripture doodles is that they help you engage more deeply with the text. They're not just decorations; they're visual anchors for memory and meditation. When I revisit a page with a doodle, it instantly brings me back to the prayer or thought I had at that moment. It makes my Bible feel alive and personal, a true reflection of my walk with God. Don't be afraid to experiment! Your doodles don't have to be perfect masterpieces. They are a form of worship, a creative expression of your faith. So grab your Bible and a pen, and just start. You might be surprised how much joy and deeper understanding these little acts of art can bring to your spiritual journey. Happy doodling!
