Reflecting on my 2025 reading journey, I can say it was a rewarding experience that fueled my love for books and encouraged me to diversify my reading list. From Stephen King's thrilling storytelling in 'It' to the dramatic themes in Oscar Wilde's 'The Picture of Dorian Gray,' each book brought a unique flavor to my year. The mix was quite eclectic, featuring classic literature, horror, and contemporary romance, as seen in Rachel Reid's 'Game Changer.' While some books, like 'A Clockwork Orange,' presented challenges due to complex language and themes, others offered engaging narratives that left me eager to read more. Rating each book helped me critically assess what worked and what didn’t for me personally. One valuable tool I adopted was the use of Goodreads and StoryGraph to track my reading progress and write reviews. These platforms not only helped me stay accountable to my reading goals but also connected me with communities that share similar interests. Writing reviews has been particularly satisfying as it deepened my understanding of the books and sharpened my analytical skills. Looking ahead to 2026, I plan to set a modest goal of reading at least seven books. Instead of focusing strictly on quantity, I aim to choose books that challenge my perspectives and enhance my reading experience. I also want to continue improving my reviewing skills by providing more detailed and thoughtful insights, both for my improvement and to assist fellow readers in discovering great books.
