When we're outdoors, like that one time we shot in front of a chain-link fence with that bright sunlight behind us, we aim for a gritty, urban vibe. We lean into aggressive stances, often with crossed arms or intense gazes, showing unity but also individual strength. Each of us – usually with our beards and hats or beanies – tries to convey that unspoken bond while still bringing our own personality. Then there are the more dramatic settings. Remember our shot in front of that brick building with the 'NANDER CREATE GAMES ART HOP' reflection and the lightning flashes in the sky? That was all about atmosphere! For shots like these, we focus on dynamic group compositions. Maybe one member is slightly forward, another in the background, creating depth. We use the environment to our advantage, letting the dramatic sky or the urban backdrop enhance the mood. It’s about creating a scene, not just a picture. Indoors, it's a whole different vibe. Our shoot in 'THE MACHINE SHOP', surrounded by all those framed pictures, stickers, and posters, was super cramped but awesome. In tight spaces, it’s all about creating intimacy and intensity. We often huddle closer, making eye contact with the camera or staring off intensely. The clutter around us actually helped, giving the photos an authentic, lived-in feel that resonates with the underground numetal scene. It’s about being part of the chaos, not just observing it. A big tip we’ve picked up is to practice your stage presence in front of a mirror, and then bring that energy to your photoshoots. Think about your band’s biggest anthem – how would you look performing it? Translating that energy into a still image is key. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different levels, like one person kneeling, others standing, or even incorporating small movements that can be captured in a series of shots.
