UNDER YOUR SCARS 🖤💀
📚 Book club: under your scars
🌟 Why I liked it: Our book club this past month read under your scars, and I just want to say I loved absolutely everything about this book! From the character development, from the 🌶️🌶️🥵, to the psychotic-ness of it 😂, to absolutely everything!
😡 what I didn’t like: The ending pissed me off so much, because (SPOILER) how you going to adopted Caroline give her the perfect home she always wanted and then do what you did in the end!!!!! BUT! Then I got my closure because of Caroline 52 page book which was much needed. Because well I don’t want to give too much away but you get it. Lol
⭐ Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, it was def my favorite read so far this year, and I can’t want to read more by this author.
Having read 'Under Your Scars,' I found myself deeply drawn into its dark, intense narrative and complex characters. The book masterfully blends themes of obsession and passion, creating an unforgettable reading experience. What stood out the most to me was the raw and authentic portrayal of the characters' struggles and emotional scars, which added layers of depth throughout. The author's approach to character development is impressive; you get to see multiple facets of each persona, including their vulnerabilities and dark sides. This complexity keeps you engaged and often surprised as the plot unfolds. Also, the book’s spicy scenes are well-paced and serve to enhance the emotional stakes rather than simply adding shock value. Despite my overall love for the book, I shared the frustration expressed by other readers regarding the ending. The twist involving Caroline felt jarring, especially considering her journey and the hope for her happiness. However, the additional Caroline 52-page book provided much-needed closure and softened that disappointment somewhat. In addition, the book’s intense and sometimes psychotic moments kept me on edge, illustrating how dark romance can delve into psychologically complex territory without losing the essence of love stories. For fans of the genre seeking something both emotionally gripping and thrill-packed, 'Under Your Scars' is a must-read. Lastly, I appreciate the unique storytelling style where two stories are interwoven, amplifying the suspense and emotional payoff. This narrative choice, combined with the author's vivid prose, makes 'Under Your Scars' a standout among dark romance novels I’ve encountered this year. If you enjoy books that explore imperfections in love and highlight the emotional scars that shape us, this is definitely worth adding to your reading list.
