Nectarine Cobbler
It is just like peach cobbler but I used 10 ripe nectarines instead with a 1/2 c of monk sugar, a little allspice, a tablespoon of nutmeg, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Mix and add about a cup of water to give it a syrupy feel, put in the bottom of a 9x12 baking dish, top with yellow cake mix and then melt 1/2 cup of butter, cook at 350F for 45 minutes or until done. Topping is 1 cup powdered sugar and about 2-3 T milk……drizzle on top. #nectarines #cobbler #sweettreat #summerdessert #getinmybelly
Nectarine cobbler is a delightful twist on the traditional peach cobbler, showcasing the juicy sweetness of ripe nectarines paired with a blend of warm spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. These spices not only enhance the natural fruit flavors but also add a cozy, aromatic quality that makes this dessert perfect for family gatherings or casual summer treats. To ensure the cobbler achieves the ideal syrupy consistency, incorporating about a cup of water helps the sugar and spices meld together with the nectarines, creating a luscious base that complements the crunchy cake topping. Using monk sugar, a natural sweetener, adds a subtle rich sweetness while keeping it lighter than traditional white sugar. The choice of yellow cake mix as the topping brings a familiar, comforting texture that crisps beautifully as it bakes, forming a golden crust that pairs wonderfully with the soft fruit beneath. Melting butter over the cake mix before baking adds richness and moisture, contributing to a perfectly balanced dessert. For the finishing touch, a simple drizzle made from powdered sugar and milk adds a sweet glaze that ties the flavors and textures together. This topping can be adjusted for consistency—adding more milk for a thinner drizzle or more powdered sugar for a thicker icing. Nectarine cobbler is best served warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream to elevate the experience. This recipe’s versatility makes it ideal for using fresh summer nectarines, but it can also be adapted with frozen fruit when fresh produce is out of season. In summary, this nectarine cobbler recipe is easy to prepare, requires minimal ingredients, and bursts with flavor. It perfectly balances sweetness, spice, and texture, making it a memorable summer dessert to enjoy with family and friends.
