This phenomenon is especially noticeable within Christian ministries and marriages, where the desire for quick results or titles often overshadows the essential process of personal and spiritual development. From my own experience, I have seen people claim roles such as 'marriage coach' or start ministries within just weeks of significant life changes, like getting married or finding faith. However, the process—the hard work of navigating conflicts, understanding spiritual warfare, building character, and facing life's realities together—is what truly shapes effective leaders and strong relationships. Without going through these trials, it’s challenging to provide genuine guidance or sustain a ministry long-term. Social media sometimes creates the illusion that success or blessing can come instantly, but authentic growth is gradual and often involves trials, failures, and learning moments. For example, in marriage, surviving arguments, managing finances, and enduring spiritual challenges form the foundation for offering support to others. Similarly, in ministry, being shaped through prayer, character building, and personal transformation helps avoid superficial leadership. Choosing to embrace the process means valuing patience, consistency, and resilience. It encourages humility and a deeper connection to one’s faith and community. Recognizing that the journey is just as important—if not more so—than the platform can lead to more impactful and meaningful contributions in any field. Ultimately, platforms are opportunities to serve, but they are best utilized when they come after a thorough and sometimes difficult process of preparation.
