Why have we decided it’s okay to bully people

2025/9/30 Edited to

... Read moreBullying is a complex social issue that often goes unchecked because it can be deeply embedded in cultural and social norms. Many people may tolerate or even participate in bullying behavior due to peer pressure, fear of exclusion, or perceived social gain. This acceptance creates a harmful environment where victims feel isolated and powerless. Understanding why bullying is sometimes seen as acceptable is crucial. For instance, in some communities, toughness and dominance are mistakenly equated with success, leading to the marginalization of those who differ or show vulnerability. This dynamic can perpetuate cycles of aggression and emotional harm. Addressing bullying requires collective awareness and action. Encouraging open conversations about respect, empathy, and individuality can help challenge harmful stereotypes and behaviors. Educational programs in schools and workplaces that focus on emotional intelligence and conflict resolution are effective tools in this fight. Moreover, standers play a powerful role — by choosing to intervene or support victims, they can disrupt bullying patterns. Creating safe spaces where everyone feels valued promotes positive social interactions and diminishes the root causes of bullying. It's important to recognize that bullying's impact extends beyond the immediate victims, affecting overall community well-being. Therefore, society must commit to changing the narrative around bullying from acceptance to intolerance and actively support those affected. By fostering empathy and promoting kindness, we can work towards safer and more inclusive environments for all.

I had read a devotion about asking why and I decided to share my view about it. I hope this helps anyone who may be questioning about certain things in their lives. Remember that Jesus loves us all, and He knows what we need and what we don't. Keep your faith and trust in Him always. 🩷

A laptop, a checkered notebook, and a pen rest on a patterned blanket. Overlay text defines the Dunning-Kruger Effect as people with little knowledge feeling confident, while experts doubt themselves.
A woman makes a peace sign with a puckered face. Text bubbles describe her initial confidence in real estate, followed by realizing how much she had to learn about complex topics like mortgages and taxes.
Why smart people doubt themselves?
I always admired how our brain works and I love to learn more about all these psychological ideas the science brings us. The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a great example of self confidence in my opinion. We can see how beginners often overestimate their knowledge because they don’t know what th
