สำหรับใครที่มีสวนผักเล็กๆ หรือใช้กระถางผักสวนครัว การปลูกผักหลายล็อตเป็นวิธีที่ช่วยให้ตลอดปีเรามีผักสดไว้กินและจำหน่ายตลอดเวลา ผมลองแบ่งเวลากลางคืนเพื่อเตรียมกระถางและดินให้พร้อมก่อนปลูกในแต่ละล็อต เพื่อให้การดูแลไม่หนักจนเกินไป โดยเน้นเลือกผักที่โตเร็วและต้านทานแมลงได้ดี เช่น ผักสลัดและผักชีฝรั่ง การวางแผนปลูกในแต่ละล็อตจะช่วยให้เราไม่ต้องเสียใจเมื่อล็อตไหนเกิดโรคหรือแมลงรบกวน เพราะยังพอมีผักล็อตอื่นช่วยทดแทน ผักที่ปลูกในกระถางยังทำให้จัดการแมลงได้ง่ายขึ้น ด้วยการย้ายกระถางหลบแดดจัดหรือใช้วิธีธรรมชาติควบคุม เช่น ใส่แผ่นฟิล์มป้องกันแมลงหรือใช้สารสกัดจากพืชเอง เคล็ดลับอีกอย่างที่ผมใช้คือจดบันทึกวันปลูกและสภาพแวดล้อมในแต่ละล็อต เพื่อวิเคราะห์ว่าเมล็ดพันธุ์ชนิดไหนโตดีในช่วงไหน และประเมินผลการดูแล จะเห็นผลลัพธ์ที่ชัดเจนและทำให้การปลูกผักสวนครัวประสบความสำเร็จในทุกฤดูกาลแน่นอน
