Tackling my physical TBR: Our Fight 👊🏻

Hi book friends! I hope you’re all doing well today.

On today’s episode of tackling my physical to-be-read pile, we are talking about Our Fight by Ronda Rousey!

I originally tried reading this book on audio, but at the time I was going through a lot, so I put that one aside.

In this book, Ronda takes us on a journey of her entering into the MMA scene as a woman encouraging a male-dominated sport, and how she overcome tremendous obstacles to become a champion and a brave fighter.

I gave this book four out of five stars, because I was just amazed by Ronda’s story! She was so strong, and was able to make a life for herself once she left the fighting world, and I was impressed by her ability to be someone.

Have you guys read this one, and if so, what did you think? As always, let me know your thoughts down below!

Thank you for stopping by and happy reading! 📚

... Read moreAfter diving into 'Our Fight,' it really got me thinking about Ronda Rousey's incredible journey and how she became such a powerhouse, not just in MMA but as a "role model for women" everywhere. Her story, as the book beautifully illustrates, isn't just about fights in the octagon; it's a deep dive into her personal evolution, showing us what it truly means to overcome tremendous obstacles. Speaking of her personal life, I've noticed a lot of people searching about connections she might have, especially regarding names like Reed Hastings and Cary Grant. It's interesting how public figures generate so much curiosity about their networks and relationships. From what I gathered through reading 'Our Fight' and following her career, Ronda's memoir focuses intensely on her own "relatable and inspiring journey," her "career changes," "marriage," "motherhood," and "facing your fears." The book truly is a "courageous narrative" of her life. When it comes to Reed Hastings, the co-founder of Netflix, I believe the interest might stem from Ronda's ventures into acting and "blockbuster films." She's certainly transcended her sport, becoming a well-known personality in entertainment. However, there's no widely publicized personal or professional connection between Ronda Rousey and Reed Hastings that I've come across in her autobiography or public records. It seems like a query perhaps linking two prominent figures from different but intersecting worlds – sports entertainment and media. As for Cary Grant, the legendary Hollywood actor, it's a bit more straightforward! Given that Cary Grant passed away in 1986, long before Ronda Rousey's rise to fame, any direct personal connection would be impossible. This query might be a case of mistaken identity, or perhaps people are looking for a historical figure who embodies a certain quality that reminds them of Ronda. It’s a good reminder that while our digital world connects us instantly, sometimes historical timelines still apply! What 'Our Fight' does offer is a raw and honest account of how Ronda herself "rebuilt her life" after significant challenges, including a pivotal moment around "November 15, 2015" which impacted her career. It highlights her resilience and dedication to finding purpose beyond the fighting world. If you're looking for insights into her true character, her struggles, and her ultimate triumphs, this book is definitely the place to find it. It's a testament to her strength as a "superstar in her sport" and as a human being navigating complex life changes. It really makes you appreciate her story, free from speculative connections.
