What does it mean by God being light?

I have had conversations in which I have heard people say things like God was not good to them, that God was being bad. I guess it won't be shocking anymore to think that many people are really mad at God because they think he hasn't done something well or that he is not doing the right thing in the present. But this kind of thinking comes from an ignorance of God, specifically, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. God is all light, all pure, all holy, flawless in every way. All his judgments and decisions are done with absolute perfection. He makes no mistakes and he is not taken by surprise. He is so good that he alone is good and no one else. If we really take the time to truly access the nature of God, it would help in how we relate to him especially when things don't seem to be going our way.

... Read moreI remember a time when I, like many others, found myself grappling with the idea of a perfectly good God when facing difficult life circumstances. It’s easy to feel frustrated or even angry when things don’t go our way, leading to questions like, “Why would a good God allow this?” or “Is God truly fair?” This kind of thinking often stems from a misunderstanding of what it means when we say, as the Bible does, that 'God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.' When we declare that GOD IS light, it's not just a poetic metaphor; it's a profound statement about His very character and essence. It means He is pure, holy, truthful, and completely without flaw. There is no shadow of imperfection, no hint of malice, no trace of error in His being. This understanding has been a cornerstone for my faith, especially when I reflect on the eight things God does not do, as illuminated by this truth. For instance, because God is light, He does not lie. This assures us that every promise He makes is trustworthy and will come to pass, no matter how impossible our current situation might seem. He is not capable of deceit. Similarly, He does not make mistakes. His judgments and decisions are always perfectly righteous and just, even if we can't comprehend them in the moment. It means His plan, though often mysterious to us, is flawless. God does not sin, nor does He tolerate sin. His holiness is absolute. This truth helps us understand His justice and His unwavering commitment to what is right. It also means He does not lose control. In a world that often feels chaotic and unpredictable, knowing that the God of light is sovereign and maintains perfect control brings immense peace. His power is limitless, and His dominion is absolute. Perhaps one of the most comforting aspects is that God does not change. His character, His love, His perfection—they are constant. We don't have to worry about Him being different tomorrow than He is today. His steadfastness is a rock in shifting sands. Moreover, He does not break His promises. Every word He has spoken stands firm. This provides a deep well of hope and assurance for our faith journey. Finally, God does not tempt people to sin. Any temptation we face comes from elsewhere, not from His pure and perfect nature. His light guides us away from darkness, never towards it. Understanding these fundamental attributes of God, derived from Him being 'light,' has transformed how I relate to Him, especially when life throws curveballs. It helps me to not only trust Him more deeply but also to strive to live in a way that reflects His pure and perfect light to the world around me, bringing clarity and hope to others.

Why soreness does not mean you’re building muscle
Just because you’re sore after a workout, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re growing muscle. An example of this would be being sore after being on the stair master, the stair master doesn’t grow your muscles! Another example is carrying groceries into the car and stacking as many bags as you can on
