I just had a baby now what?
Hiya guys! I just had my baby boy on 8-15 and he just turned 1 month on monday CRAZY. But let me tell you it has definitely been a nice little challenge and i wouldn’t have it any other way. My little boy is mixed his dad is white and yk im black (duh 😂) when he was first born he looked exactly like his dad down to the T but slowly he is starting to get a little color to him just a little tho, he still looks like his dad still i think the only thing that my son got from me was his eye color.
When i first came home with my son i didn’t know what to do i was paranoid and scared to sleep the first night bc im a deep sleeper, so i ended up setting alarms like every hour 😅 for the first 3 days home and then by the 4th day i was like okay i got this ik his sleep schedule and his cues im good, but then he started to change his schedule a bit on me which is fine but it was a little harder during the day but im learning still and ik he’s still learning the difference between night and day so i cant really expect him to stay on the same schedule during the daytime.
Recently tho i noticed that sometimes he’ll stay awake for like 3-5 hours fighting sleep and everything and will ask to be fed like every hour or so and then after like the 3rd or 4th bottle he’ll be out cold until his next feeding. But other than that i don’t know what milestones he should be hitting now that he is a month old, i did just start doing tummy time with him for like 2 mins. If you guys have any suggestions or advice just lmk TY!
As a new parent, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. Educating yourself about newborn care can alleviate some anxiety. It's important to understand your baby's sleep patterns; newborns usually sleep between 14 to 17 hours a day, but they wake frequently for feeding. Establishing a consistent nighttime routine can help signal to your baby that it’s time to sleep. During the first month, tummy time is crucial for your baby's development, so continuing that practice will foster strength and coordination. Additionally, recognizing developmental milestones is vital. By one month, babies may begin to lift their heads briefly, focus on objects, and respond to sounds. There are numerous resources available, from parenting blogs to pediatric advice, to help you monitor your baby's growth. Joining parenting groups can also provide support and encouragement from others who are experiencing the same joys and challenges of parenthood. Remember, every baby develops at their own pace, and patience is key!
