Any ideas why?
Yall, my knee has been killing for 3 days and it is throwing off my running schedule horrendously. Any ideas why? I don’t think it’s runners knee based on where it hurts.
Knee pain can arise from various factors, including tendon issues and ligament injuries. Understanding the anatomy of the knee is crucial for identifying sources of pain. Common culprits of knee discomfort can include patellar tendinitis, which often results from repetitive use, and issues related to the meniscus, which can cause significant pain on movement. If the pain is on the outer side, the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) might be strained, while pain on the inner side may suggest internal issues such as a meniscal tear. Additionally, imbalances or weaknesses in surrounding muscles can contribute to knee pain, often exacerbated by running or other sports activities. Consulting healthcare professionals for an accurate diagnosis is vital. Practicing proper stretching techniques, strengthening exercises, and cross-training can also play a key role in recovery and preventing knee issues in the future.

I personally struggle with patella tendinitis and that is exactly where my pain is.
