It's ReneeNicole here, and even though 2025 feels a bit far off, I can't help but already get excited for Pride! 🩷🩵💜 For me, Pride isn't just a month; it's a powerful reminder of how far we've come and how much more there is to achieve for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. It’s a time for joyous celebration, fierce advocacy, and profound community. The energy during Pride Month is truly infectious, a collective outpouring of love, acceptance, and resilience that recharges my spirit every single year. Thinking about Pride 2025 already has me dreaming up some amazing ways to celebrate. Last year, I loved seeing all the vibrant parades and the incredible energy of people coming together. There’s something truly magical about walking through streets filled with rainbow flags, music, and so much love. It always reminds me that we’re part of a huge, supportive family, united by our shared experiences and hopes for a more inclusive world. The sight of so many different faces, backgrounds, and stories converging for one purpose is genuinely moving. For 2025, I’m really hoping to dive deeper into supporting local LGBTQ+ organizations and businesses. Beyond the festivities and parades, these groups do vital work year-round, offering essential resources, creating safe spaces, and driving crucial advocacy efforts. I'm thinking about volunteering more of my time or finding new and creative ways to amplify their voices and missions. It’s not just about showing up for the celebration, but showing up meaningfully for the community that sustains us. I also want to focus on the educational aspect of Pride. While it's undoubtedly a party, it's crucial to remember that Pride's roots are in protest, stemming from the Stonewall Riots. It's essential to honor that history and acknowledge the ongoing struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community worldwide. Sharing stories, learning from elders in the community, and actively educating allies are all big priorities for me. Every year, I make it a point to learn something new about a different aspect of LGBTQ+ history, a less-known figure, or a current challenge being faced. This grounding in history makes the celebrations even more meaningful. And of course, the fashion! You know I love to express myself through style, and Pride gives us the perfect excuse to go all out with glitter, rainbows, and bold statements. I'm already envisioning some fabulous outfits for Pride 2025 – maybe something with a vintage twist, or really leaning into the beautiful pastel colors of the Pride flag.
