... Read moreHello! It's so nice to meet you here on Lemon8. You've read about my journey balancing medical school, teaching, and motherhood, driven by my desire for a better life for my daughter and to finish what I started. But beyond the textbooks and lesson plans, there's another layer to this demanding life: sharing my experience. Many of you might be wondering how it's even possible to pursue a medical degree while raising a young child and even considering being a content creator in the medical field. It’s certainly a daily challenge, but it's also incredibly rewarding. One of the biggest questions I get is about time management. Honestly, it's a constant recalibration. My schedule is meticulously planned, often hour by hour. Early mornings before my two-year-old wakes up, late nights after she's asleep, and squeezing in study sessions during her naps are my reality. It's about finding those pockets of time and being incredibly disciplined. I've learned to say no to distractions and to prioritize my studies and family above almost everything else. This determination has truly helped me maintain my 4.0 GPA, even amidst the chaos. Being a parent in medical school adds a unique layer of complexity. There are days filled with 'mom guilt' when I'm studying instead of playing, or times when I feel utterly exhausted from juggling both roles. But then I remember my 'why': my daughter. She is my ultimate motivation. I wanted better for my life and for her future, and that vision keeps me pushing forward. It's not just about getting a medical degree; it's about setting an example of perseverance and showing her that with hard work and faith, anything is possible. God helped me through so many struggles, and just thinking of what I have been through has pushed me and being encouraged by my faith is key. Connecting with others who are also parents in the medical field, or aspiring content creators sharing their journeys, has been incredibly uplifting. Building a community here on platforms like Lemon8 allows me to share the realities – the triumphs and the struggles – and hopefully inspire someone else. It's a way to document my growth, celebrate small victories, and remind myself that I am determined to finish what I started. If you're a mother considering a career change or pursuing higher education, know that it's tough, but it's absolutely achievable with enough grit and a clear vision for your future. Don't underestimate your own strength and the power of your motivations, just like my daughter motivates me every single day.
