July’s Read

My June read was 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔸𝕣𝕥 𝕠𝕗 𝕎𝕒𝕣.

While the book is only 37 pages, it literally took me all month to finish, 😳👀 I read just one page a day. It wasn’t a difficult read—it just wasn’t that interesting to me. I’d give it a 4/5. I’d still recommend it if you work in corporate or just want to learn how to think more strategically and put yourself in the best position to win.

After last month’s strategic reading, this month’s book is all about enjoyment. 💅🏾📚 If you know me, then you know I love a good urban fiction novel—and I couldn’t resist a Winter Santiaga story. ❄️✨

... Read moreAfter spending June with a strategic and somewhat challenging read like The Art of War, switching gears to a more entertaining and immersive urban fiction novel was a refreshing change. Sister Souljah's 'Love After Midnight,' part of her Winter Santiaga series, is known for its gripping narrative and authentic portrayal of life and relationships within urban settings. What makes this book stand out, especially for readers like me who appreciate layered storytelling combined with cultural resonance, is Sister Souljah's ability to weave social themes with personal drama. The novel’s New York Times bestseller status is well deserved, reflecting its wide appeal and compelling character development. Reading 'Love After Midnight' not only provides an entertaining escape but also offers insight into complex emotional dynamics, making it perfect for readers who enjoy depth in their fiction. For urban fiction fans or those new to the genre, this book delivers a blend of passion, conflict, and resilience, demonstrating why Sister Souljah remains a powerful voice in contemporary literature. Pairing this month’s reading with hashtags like #urbanfiction, #goodreads, and #sistersouljah helps connect with a broader community of readers who share similar interests. This social engagement enriches the reading experience, sparking discussions about the novel's themes and narrative style. If you're looking for a break from strategic or self-improvement books and want to dive into something more emotionally engaging, 'Love After Midnight' is an ideal pick. Its emotional depth coupled with Sister Souljah’s evocative writing style makes it a memorable and satisfying read that broke up my reading year beautifully. For anyone curious about urban fiction or seeking a beautifully crafted story this summer, giving this book a try might be a great choice.
