Living with generational trauma and complex PTSD (CPTSD) is an ongoing struggle that many young mothers face silently. From my own experience, the feeling of doing everything alone—with no help—can be overwhelming and isolating. The weight of past family dynamics, combined with the daily sacrifices required to raise a child, often leaves little time for self-care or emotional healing. What helps me cope is actively seeking small moments of peace and reaching out to supportive communities, even if just online. Understanding that sacrifice is often a part of this journey, but not at the expense of your own mental health, is crucial. Therapy or support groups that specialize in trauma can provide valuable tools to manage CPTSD symptoms and break the cycle of generational trauma. It's important to acknowledge the strength it takes to navigate this difficult path and recognize that self-compassion is not selfish. Sharing stories and connecting with others who understand can make the burden feel lighter. Remember, while the struggle is real and sometimes feels never-ending, you are not truly alone in this fight.
