In 2019, I appeared on The Dr. Oz Show to speak my truth about the Dr. Nikita Levy and Johns Hopkins Hospital scandal.
I was violated by a doctor I trusted—someone who secretly recorded and photographed GYN examinations.
What made the trauma heavier was not just what was done to me, but the crushing guilt I carried for believing a charming, deceptive spirit and unknowingly placing myself and my two daughters in danger.
For a long time, shame tried to silence me.
Fear tried to own me.
Trauma tried to define me.
But God stepped in.
Healing did not come overnight. It came through tears, therapy, prayer, anger, forgiveness, boundaries, and learning that what happened to me was not because of me.
I learned that predators hide behind titles, and discernment is a form of spiritual protection.
This chapter of Resilient By Design exists because I refused to let trauma have the final word.
My story is for every woman who has ever questioned herself after being violated.
For every survivor who carried misplaced guilt. For every mother learning to forgive herself.
God restores.
God redeems.
God exposes darkness.

Experiencing trauma at the hands of a trusted medical professional is profoundly devastating, especially when compounded by feelings of guilt and shame. It often involves confronting painful memories and facing fear head-on. Yet, community and shared stories of resilience transform isolation into solidarity. For every woman who has been violated, know that your trauma does not define you. Your survival can inspire others, and your testimony can unveil darkness to protect others from harm. Ultimately, exposing abuses like those committed by Dr. Levy shines a light on systemic issues within institutions meant to safeguard us. It encourages vigilance, accountability, and reform.
