The Lego clone collection 🤩

Building a massive Lego Clone Army has been one of my most rewarding hobbies, and I'm so excited to share my journey and some tips with you all! When I first started, my goal was simply to gather a few favorite clone trooper minifigures. But soon enough, the thrill of seeing them lined up on a black baseplate, ready for battle, became an obsession. It’s not just about collecting; it’s about recreating epic Star Wars scenes and bringing those iconic moments to life on my display shelves. One of the questions I often get is, "How do you even start building a big army?" For me, it began with identifying my favorite legions. Do you love the classic Phase I or Phase II troopers, or perhaps specific battalions like the 501st or 212th? Setting a theme or a specific era can really help focus your efforts. I personally love the variety, which is why my collection includes everything from standard white troopers to more unique ones, like that striking yellow and white armored clone trooper minifigure I recently acquired – it really stands out on its own white baseplate! Finding minifigures is another adventure. Bricklink is a fantastic resource for individual figures, and sometimes you can find great deals on larger lots on eBay or Facebook Marketplace. I always recommend checking local toy conventions or brick shows too; you never know what treasures you might unearth! Don't be afraid to buy 'used' figures, but always check their condition. A little dust or a loose helmet can usually be fixed. Displaying your army is just as important as collecting it. I've experimented with various setups, from simple rows on shelves to more elaborate dioramas. Using black baseplates helps to create a uniform, professional look, making your army appear even larger and more cohesive. For special figures, like my yellow and white armored clone trooper, placing them on a smaller, contrasting white baseplate or a raised platform can highlight them beautifully within the larger collection. Lighting also plays a huge role; a well-lit display makes every detail pop. Beyond just the troopers, don't forget the vehicles! Adding a few AT-RTs, Republic Gunships, or even a small speeder bike can dramatically enhance the dynamism of your army display. It gives your troopers a context and makes the collection feel more active and ready for action. Maintaining a large collection does take a bit of effort. Dusting is key – I use a soft brush and sometimes a can of compressed air for those hard-to-reach spots. Keeping them out of direct sunlight prevents discoloration over time. My passion for Lego Clone Troopers continues to grow, and my "biggest Lego clone army" is always a work in progress. It's a fantastic hobby that connects me with other Star Wars and Lego fans.
