Their resilience, combined with their ability to perform evasive maneuvers, makes them incredibly challenging, especially in Halo 3 where their golden ranks could really put you through your paces. Then we have the Brutes, or Jiralhanae. These guys are the epitome of raw, untamed power. After the Great Schism, they largely replaced the Elites as the Covenant's frontline shock troops, and for good reason. What they might lack in tactical finesse, they more than make up for in sheer aggression and brute force. Their power armor provides substantial protection, and when it fails, their berserker rage kicks in, making them even more terrifying. Wielding weapons like the Brute Shot, Spiker, or Gravity Hammer, they charge head-on, often overwhelming their enemies with a relentless assault. Facing a pack of Brutes, especially those equipped with Jump Packs, can turn any encounter into a chaotic, thrilling fight. So, who wins in a Brute vs. Elite scenario? In game lore, the Elites generally had the edge in strategy and overall combat skill, leading the Covenant for centuries. However, the Brutes' ferocity and their overwhelming numbers during the Human-Covenant War, especially after their ascension with the Prophet of Truth, made them incredibly dangerous.
