You've met Rey Flo, or as some call him, Racer, my spirited main character. But who exactly is Rey Flo, and what makes NAHWC a story worth diving into? Rey Flo embodies the core idea behind NAHWC: not all heroes wear capes, but they all have a spirit to protect and inspire. His 'Flow' ability isn't just about speed; it's about harnessing a unique energy that allows him to move with incredible agility and make those jaw-dropping maneuvers you see in the comics. I loved designing his blue, grey, and black superhero suit – it reflects his dynamic personality and practical heroism. When he declares, 'I will be a hero!', it truly captures his unwavering determination. My inspiration for NAHWC is deeply rooted in my love for anime and manga. I've always admired how these mediums blend intricate character development with epic action, and I strive to bring that same depth to Rey Flo's story. From his initial character profile detailing his birthday and height to the powerful stance he takes with his glowing hand, every detail is crafted to resonate with fans of Japanese animation and comics. That short comic where Rey Flo asks, 'Wanna see me run to that rock?!' is one of my favorites! It perfectly encapsulates his playful yet confident nature. And the reaction of the other characters, exclaiming 'HE'S SO FAST! I DIDN'T EVEN SEE HIM MOVE!', really highlights the incredible speed and mystery of his 'Flow' ability. It's these small, character-driven moments that I believe make a hero relatable and memorable, even when they’re displaying superhuman feats. I wanted to show that even heroes can have a bit of fun while showcasing their powers. It's always a challenge to convey speed effectively in static comic panels, but I aim to make every movement feel impactful and exciting for the reader. Creating NAHWC and bringing characters like Rey Flo to life is a labor of love. It’s a continuous process of sketching, writing, and refining, all while drawing inspiration from the vibrant worlds of anime and manga.
