Sometimes you wanna snowboard or tube and you don’t wanna drive 2.5 hours on I-70 only to be met with traffic or an ungodly amount of people! Hoedown Hill opened January 1st out in Windsor and it is a quick drive for any NOCO residents! totally worth the small price point of 30 bucks and will definitely be back to go snowboarding!

... Read moreOkay, so I just had the most amazing winter day, and I HAVE to tell you about Hoedown Hill in Windsor! If you're like me and constantly searching for a good snow spot without the I-70 headache, this place is an absolute gem. It’s a quick drive for anyone in Northern Colorado, meaning less time stuck in traffic and more time enjoying the snow, which is exactly what I look for in a winter escape. The tubing experience at Hoedown Hill is seriously next level. Imagine zipping down wide, groomed lanes, the wind rushing past you as you spin and slide. They've invested in a super cool conveyor belt system that totally takes the effort out of climbing back up the hill – you just hop on, relax, and enjoy the ride inside a clear tunnel. It makes getting multiple runs in so much easier, and I saw so many people smiling, truly embodying those 'SNOW DAY VIBES.' For those who love a bit more adventure, I even heard some chatter about a run possibly named 'THE BUSHWHACKER' – definitely something to look into if you’re feeling brave and want an extra thrill! Beyond just tubing, Hoedown Hill is a fantastic find for snowboarders and skiers too. While it might not have the sheer scale of the bigger mountain resorts, they boast a really well-maintained terrain park. If you're into jumps, rails, and boxes, or just want to practice some freestyle moves without massive crowds, this is your spot. It’s perfect for getting some quality runs in and honing your skills in a laid-back atmosphere. It’s refreshing to find a place that offers such diverse winter activities without the usual fuss. Now, I know a lot of people, myself included, often search for 'tubing near Golden' or other popular mountain towns. But let me tell you, if you're in Northern Colorado or just want to avoid the typical mountain traffic grind, Hoedown Hill in Windsor offers such a unique and convenient advantage. It truly is a local treasure that delivers big on winter fun without the long commute. You can be on the slopes and enjoying the crisp air in no time, making for a much more relaxed and enjoyable day trip. And it's not just about the slopes! After all that exhilarating fun, you might want to warm up and refuel. They've got options for food and drinks to keep you energized. While I didn't grab a fancy light-colored cocktail in a coupe glass topped with star anise like you might see at some high-end après-ski lounges, it’s good to know there are amenities on-site to make your day comfortable and complete. Seriously, if you're looking for an awesome, affordable, and stress-free winter adventure, put Hoedown Hill on your list. It's a fantastic local spot for some true winter vibes and unforgettable memories!
