SPRING?!? 🌞THAT YOU?!

i swear those perfectly temped days are within reach! if you’re anything like us, we thrive during the summer time. buuuuut right about now we start going stir crazy from being cooped up all winter. even though it’s not river weather next up, i do love me some spring time.

something i’m very excited to do more of this year, is fruit picking! last year we were able to go peach picking, but that was more around August. this year i want to go pick blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and some more peaches!

it’s all around a great experience because;

• you’re outside spending undivided attention with your little.

• there’s so much to see, touch, smell… its very stimulating (in a good way) to all the senses.

• there’s so many photo ops!

• we went to a farm that had us purchase by the weight and we got a really good deal on a lot of fruit.

• supporting family owned businesses.

• it was able to provide us with another activity for at home! with all the fruit you can make pies, jams, salads, salsas & so much more.

• could help encourage littles to eat healthier snacks after providing them with the core memory of picking said snack!

this is something i would highly recommend you try with your family! i know we will be doing it every year. 😌

... Read moreSpring is the perfect opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities like fruit picking, allowing families to bond and create cherished memories. Not only does fruit picking stimulate all senses—sight, touch, and smell—but it also provides a fantastic way to encourage healthier eating habits among children by involving them in the process of harvesting their snacks. Consider taking a trip to a local farm where you can pick strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and peaches. Many farms support local families, and you can often find affordable options by buying produce by weight, making it an economical choice! After your fruit picking adventure, get creative at home by making pies, jams, or refreshing fruit salads together, transforming your fresh picks into delicious treats. Engage in meaningful conversations with your little ones about the importance of supporting family-owned farms and understanding where their food comes from. Thus, fruit picking becomes not just an activity but a learning experience that enhances children's appreciation for nature and health. Don't forget to capture all the fun moments for social media or family albums, as these outings are filled with photo opportunities!
