When i heard that summer is almost there, all i can think about when it comes to an outfit is a DRESS. A dress is a summer vibe for me. So, i will share some of my dresses so you can have an outfit inspiration for this summer!
TIPS FOR STYLING A DRESS:
1. You can play with your outfit when wearing a dress. For example, add an outer wear: cardigan, blazer, cropped blazer etc.
2. It is much better if you choose the color of your bag with the color of your dress. But if not, it’s still okay.
3. When wearing a dress, a flat, a pumps or a sneakers will work with it. So you just have to chose depending on your mood.
4. Know what kind of dress will work for your body. For me a midi dress doesn’t look good on me unless it has a slit. It does’t mean that a maxi dress will not work for you if you have a petite body. No, i am 5’0 and it looks so good on me.
5. Wear it with confidence, i have scoliosis and whenever i wear a fitted dress you’ll see my uneven hips. But you can’t see it— why? Because i am wearing the confidence i have.
I hope these will help you if you’re looking for a perfect dress. I already put the item id’s so you won’t have a hard time searching for it.
... Read moreOkay, so we've talked about how amazing summer dresses are, but let's get specific! When those hot weather alerts pop up and you're planning a fun casual day out, like a trip to the zoo, you need outfits that are both chic and super practical. I've had my share of uncomfortable zoo days, so I've perfected my zoo outfits strategy, and trust me, dresses are a game-changer!
First off, why a dress for the zoo? Simple: breathability and ease of movement. You'll be walking a lot, often in direct sun, and potentially dealing with humidity. A flowy dress, like a white midi dress or a black maxi dress, lets your skin breathe and doesn't restrict you. Forget tight jeans or anything that chafes! I personally love how effortlessly stylish a midi dress can look while still being incredibly practical for chasing after little ones or rushing to see the feeding schedule.
Choosing the right fabric is key. Think cotton, linen blends, or rayon. These materials are lightweight and absorb sweat better than synthetics, keeping you cooler. While a black mini dress with a slit can be super cute, for extensive walking, I often pair it with biker shorts underneath for extra comfort and peace of mind. For a touch of fun, a black and white patterned midi dress is perfect – it hides minor spills (hello, ice cream!) and adds a playful vibe to your look. I've found some great affordable options at places like SHEIN and RIHOAS, which often have these types of styles.
Footwear is non-negotiable for comfort. You absolutely need comfortable shoes. Leave the heels at home! My go-to is always white sneakers because they offer support for miles of walking. Comfy sandals or espadrille flats can also work, but make sure they have good arch support and won't give you blisters. Remember, you're there to enjoy the animals, not hobble around with sore feet!
Don't forget your accessories! Sun protection is a must. A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses are essential. I always carry a crossbody bag or a small backpack. This keeps my hands free for holding maps, taking photos, or grabbing a quick snack. A black handbag can look sleek, but make sure it's practical enough for your essentials: water bottle, sunscreen, and maybe even a small portable fan!
Lastly, a light layer can be a lifesaver. Even on a hot day, some indoor exhibits can be chilly, or you might appreciate a little extra coverage from the sun. A light, unbuttoned linen shirt or a thin cotton cardigan (rather than a grey blazer which might be too warm or formal for a zoo) can be easily tied around your waist when not needed. It’s all about layers that add to your comfort, not detract from it.
By keeping these tips in mind, you can create summer zoo outfits that are both fashionable and functional, ensuring you have the best possible time exploring all the wonders the zoo has to offer, even in hot weather!
