Can’t believe my co worker hates me

My role as an Executive Assistant means no two days are ever truly the same, but there's a rhythm to the chaos that I've come to embrace. When I arrive between 7:30-8:00 AM, it's all about settling in and preparing for the day ahead. My first task is always to plug in from the weekend – mentally and literally! Clearing initial emails, checking calendars, and prepping for any immediate needs is key. Breakfast often happens at my desk around 9:20 AM, usually while I'm coordinating catering for executive meetings. It's a skill to juggle, I tell ya! The 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM slot is often dedicated to executive meetings. These can be intense, requiring me to be on top of notes, follow-ups, and managing logistics. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I get a quick break to snack outside—a small moment of peace before the next wave hits. It’s those little moments that keep me going through the busy corporate mornings. Lunch at 12:30 PM is my sanctuary, even if it comes with its own drama! This particular day, I actually broke a nail and ended up taking off the whole set. It's funny how those little things can feel like a big deal in the middle of a busy day, but it’s important to step away, even briefly, to recharge. A quick walk or simply just eating away from my desk helps clear my head for the afternoon. Returning from lunch at 1:30 PM, the afternoon often brings new challenges. Around 2:30 PM, a 'crisis' hit—I needed to add an executive to a crucial meeting but hadn't been asked by their EA. It's a delicate dance of communication and quick problem-solving, trying to get everyone on the same page. Then, there are the unexpected visits, like a past co-worker stopping by at 3:30 PM for a quick chat, and immediate requests, such as finding specific hanging folders for an executive at 3:45 PM. It truly makes you think, 'wha...?' how quickly things can change! Speaking of co-workers, the original post mentioned feeling like my co-worker hates me. While it's tough to deal with office dynamics, I've learned to focus on my tasks and maintain professionalism. Sometimes, misunderstandings happen, or personalities just clash. It’s a part of navigating the corporate world, and finding healthy ways to cope is essential. You learn to develop a thick skin and choose your battles wisely, remembering that your performance is what truly matters. By 4:15 PM, it's time to pack up, but the day isn't truly over. Heading straight to Barre class helps me decompress and switch off from the 'overstimulation' of the office. It's vital to have these outlets to maintain mental well-being when your job is so demanding. Every day is a puzzle, and as an Executive Assistant, you're always piecing it together, learning, and growing, both professionally and personally.
