... Read moreHot yoga is often celebrated for its many health benefits, but the dramatic difference between how you feel before and after a session is something that can catch you off guard. When I first started, I remember feeling confident and energized before class, excited to take on the challenge. However, by the end, it felt like the class had completely knocked the sonic coins out of me — meaning it was both mentally and physically draining, yet in an oddly rewarding way. The heat in a hot yoga room is designed to help with flexibility and detoxification, but it also adds an extra layer of intensity that can leave you feeling sweaty and exhausted. What struck me the most was the feeling of transformation — my muscles loosened, my mind felt clearer, and despite the difficulty, I experienced a sense of accomplishment. This “before and after” look is not just about physical change but also the mental clarity hot yoga brings. For those new to hot yoga, be prepared for that initial shock to your system. Hydration before and after class is essential, and don’t be discouraged if you feel wiped out at first. Over time, the endurance and strength benefits become more apparent, and you’ll begin to appreciate both the beauty and the challenge of hot yoga’s unique environment. Sharing this experience with fellow practitioners can provide encouragement, as many have gone through similar transformations, recognizing that the intense sweat session is part of what makes hot yoga so addictive and effective.
