Our hearts are brimming with a mix of anticipation and trepidation as we prepare for the arrival of our precious baby girl, Addelyn Joy Hebner. She's expected to join us on June 25, 2025, and though we dream of a smooth arrival, we've been told to prepare for a challenging start. We're already calling her our 'star' because we know, deep down, she’ll be a fighter. The news that she will likely be born extremely premature, weighing around just 1 pound 5.9 ounces and only 12 1/4 inches long, has been a rollercoaster for her proud parents. It’s truly hard to imagine our tiny girl facing such big hurdles right from the very beginning of her life. The initial shock quickly turned into a fierce determination to be as ready as humanly possible for whatever comes our way. We’ve spent countless hours researching, talking to neonatologists and specialists, and trying to understand every aspect of what life will be like in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). It’s a specialized world we never expected to enter, filled with complex medical equipment and dedicated professionals. This unexpected path has brought its own set of fears and anxieties, but also an incredible surge of love and protectiveness for our unborn daughter. We’re ready to embrace it fully for Addelyn's sake, knowing that every moment spent with her will be precious. We’re constantly learning about the incredible resilience of micro-preemies and the dedicated, around-the-clock care they receive. The stories of other families who have walked this path inspire us daily. The thought of her tiny hands and feet, so delicate yet so inherently strong, is what keeps us going through moments of worry. We are preparing ourselves, mentally and emotionally, for the long days and nights spent by her incubator, the constant beeping of machines monitoring her every breath and heartbeat, and the slow, often painstaking, but hopeful journey towards gaining health and strength. Every single day leading up to June 25, 2025, is a day of intense preparation, not just for setting up her nursery, but for the significant fight ahead that our little one will bravely face. The financial burden that comes with extended NICU stays is daunting, adding another layer of stress during an already emotional time. We know we can't do this alone. Our community, friends, and family have already shown us such incredible love and support, and it means the world to us. Our biggest, most fervent hope is to eventually bring Addelyn home, healthy and thriving, ready to live a full and wonderful life outside the hospital walls.
