What did you do as a new mom for showering

It’s hard as a new mother finding time to shower or take care of yourself when the baby is the priority! For me I was thankful we had our bassinet with wheels to take her into the bathroom while I showered as well as help from my husband and other options for her to lay down on. Some days were harder than other but a shower everyday is what helped me postpartum. #postpartumcare #newmother #newmom #lemon8partner

Many mothers find that having a bassinet with wheels is a game-changer, as it allows you to keep your baby close and safe while you quickly shower. Some moms also use a portable playpen or a "snuggle me" to keep their baby comfortable and visible. Support from your partner or family can make a huge difference. For example, if your partner takes shifts with the baby, especially during nighttime or when you want personal time, it can give you a chance to refresh and feel more like yourself. Establishing a routine where someone else watches the baby, even briefly, lets you prioritize your postpartum care. Showering regularly after birth is not just about hygiene; it is vital for mental well-being. Many moms recall feeling more refreshed and emotionally balanced after even a quick shower. It can serve as a small but important moment of self-care amid the demands of motherhood. It's important to acknowledge that some days will be harder than others, and flexibility is key. If showers aren't possible daily, alternative quick cleansing methods like using wet wipes, or a sponge bath can also be helpful. Lastly, connecting with other new mothers through forums or community groups can provide encouragement and creative ideas for managing self-care. Remember, taking care of yourself helps you take better care of your baby, making those small moments of showering essential for your postpartum journey.
