「ウツボの唐揚げってどんな味？」と気になって、三重県・四日市でついに初挑戦しました。正直、ウツボ＝ちょっとクセがありそう…という先入観があったんですが、食べた瞬間に印象がガラッと変わりました。 まず衣が軽くてサクサク。レモンをきゅっと絞ると、揚げ物なのに後味がさっぱりして、箸が止まらないタイプでした。身は白身魚みたいにふわっとしていて、脂っこさは控えめ。骨が多そうで心配していましたが、私が食べた唐揚げは食べにくさを感じにくくて「これならまた頼みたい」と思えました。ウツボの唐揚げが名物っぽいエリアは海が近いので、こういう珍しい魚を気軽に食べられるのが三重の楽しさだなと実感。 一緒に行く人がいるなら、最初にウツボの唐揚げをシェアして“話題枠”にするのもおすすめです。見た目のインパクトがあるので、テーブルに来た瞬間ちょっと盛り上がります。揚げ物が続くときは、途中で伊勢うどんを挟むと口の中が落ち着いてバランスが良かったです。伊勢うどんは麺が太くてもちもち、濃いめのタレがしっかり絡むので、〆というより「途中で食べても満足感が出る一品」でした。 それと、土鍋のカニ×いくら×明太子みたいな“ご褒美系”もあると、一気に旅行気分が上がります。居酒屋メニューでも、三重っぽいもの（伊勢うどんなど）と、みんなが好きな定番（鶏の唐揚げ・おでん・刺身）を組み合わせると、好みが分かれても頼みやすいなと思いました。 お店の雰囲気も大事で、全席個室だと周りを気にせずゆっくりできるのが嬉しいポイント。靴を脱いで上がるスタイルだと、食事の時間がよりリラックスできます。ウツボの唐揚げを三重県で探している人は、「四日市で駅近」「個室」「ご当地メニューもある」みたいな条件で選ぶと、満足度が高くなりやすいと思います。
